About the Role:

The BI Manager will lead the planning, and implementation of the Business Intelligence projects for Convz. They will lead a team of BI consultants, analysts and engineers, working closely with clients to understand their business needs, develop customized BI solutions, and deliver actionable insights that drive business growth and innovation.

• Client Engagement: Lead client engagements, serving as the primary point of contact for BI initiatives. Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and data requirements.
• Solution Design: Develop tailored BI solutions that address clients' specific business needs, leveraging industry best practices, cutting-edge technologies, and advanced analytics techniques.
• Project Management: Manage end-to-end BI projects, from scoping and planning to implementation and delivery. Define project timelines, allocate resources, and ensure timely and successful project completion.
• Team Leadership: Lead a team of BI consultants and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on delivering exceptional client outcomes.
• Data Analysis and Visualization: Oversee the development of reports, dashboards, and data visualisations that provide meaningful insights to clients, enabling them to make informed decisions and drive business performance.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of BI solutions through rigorous testing and quality assurance processes. Implement data governance frameworks to maintain data consistency and compliance.
• Client Training and Support: Provide training and support to clients on BI tools and solutions, empowering them to effectively use and maximize the value of their data assets.
• Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with existing and prospective clients. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral.

What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or consulting, with at least 2 years in a client-facing or leadership role.
• Experience with BI Tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, etc, and expertise in data modelling, ETL processes, and data visualisation.
• Strong project management skills, with experience leading complex BI projects from inception to delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build trusted advisor relationships with clients.
• Proficient with SQL queries and experience working with databases
• Experience on Cloud Data Platforms such as Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Google Bigquery, Amazon Redshift
• Knowledge and experience in Python is beneficial
• An aptitude for data analytics, along with strong problem-solving.
• Domain knowledge within Retail, E-commerce, Healthcare, Fintech, Banking, Digital Native Businesses or other similar industries

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Analyze current GCP pipelines (Cloud Functions, Cloud Pub/Sub, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Run, BigQuery) to understand their structure, dependencies, and performance requirements.
• Design: Create a detailed migration plan, mapping GCP services to equivalent Azure resources (Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure Scheduler, Azure Container Instances/App Service, Azure Synapse Analytics).
• Implementation: Execute the migration plan, scripting or using infrastructure-as-code tools to automate the process wherever possible.
• Testing: Develop a comprehensive testing strategy to validate the functionality and performance of the migrated Azure pipelines.
• Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance pipeline efficiency and cost-effectiveness on Azure.
• Documentation: Thoroughly document the migration process, including design decisions, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.
• Support: Provide ongoing support during and after the migration to ensure smooth operation and address any issues that arise.

Required Skills

• Cloud Platforms: Expert knowledge of both GCP and Azure, including their core services, data processing capabilities, and pipeline orchestration tools.
• Pipeline Migration: Proven experience migrating pipelines between cloud platforms, ideally from GCP to Azure.
• Programming: Proficiency in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages for automation and data manipulation.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with Terraform or ARM templates for managing cloud infrastructure.
• Data Processing: Experience with data warehousing (BigQuery, Azure Synapse Analytics) and ETL/ELT processes.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address any unexpected issues during migration.
• Communication: Good written and verbal communication to collaborate with teams and document the process clearly.
